I Ordered Our Kindergarten Curriculum

I am so super excited!  I ordered Savanna's Kindergarten curriculum today!  :) Yay!

She will be doing Heart of Dakota's Little Hearts for His Glory as her core.  We will be doing Math U See's Alpha level for math, the Logic of English Foundations set, and See The Light Shine Art Class.  I spent a good chunk of change on her curriculum but it is so worth it to have her at home where we can both learn together.  This is such a joy and a blessing to have the opportunity to do this for my girls.  I am so happy to give them a Christ centered education.  I am truly blessed beyond measure.  Here's a list of link's if you want to check them out for yourself. eekk (Im excited)!

B Triangle 2 Blue

Yay!  She is doing so well.  A lot of this she did on her own without me even explaining what to do.

Yes people, this is real life!  She has a giant orange mark on her cheek and the same shirt on as yesterday. hah!  Savanna went to school with an orange mustache and eye brows as the Lorax for Dr Seuss' birthday, so Avery had to have some kind of orange on her face as well.  :)

This is a new printable I am using from itsybitsylearners.com

Week 2 Letter B

We are starting off this week with a "B" on the floor.  Avery uses this all week long.  Every time we are looking at a letter she points to the letter on the floor.

Avery did a great job drawing her lines!

Letter "B" Collage with beans.

While Avery and I were working on her letter and number worksheets Savanna was working on her Math U See. I didn't even ask her, she just said she wanted to do school too.  Her preschool is on a 2-hour delay today so we all got to do it together.

Feeling Crafty

Okay, so we are doing one more letter A, and she definitely knows her "big A" and "little a."  Big sister is still sick on the couch so it is just Avery and I crafting today.  I taped a letter 'a' with scotch painters tape (I just painted my kitchen).  This may get complicated...starting with letter 'b.'  Let me know if you guys have any ideas as to how to neatly tape a curved letter.

Here she is adding the hearts.  We added them simply because they are red and we had them left over from Valentines day....so why not?

Here is the finished product.

Now we are doing glue with salt on top, then dotting the paint on.  Although it didn't turn out the way it is "supposed" to, its beautiful because she did it.

aaannndddd she tasted the salt!

It's not so good! lol

We all painted these a week or so ago, so Avery helped me glue them on.  I will add stems later.  They are cardboard punch-outs....and my neatly cut grass.  Its always handy to have a book of scrapbook paper laying around.  Wal-Mart usually has a book of multiple colors for $5.

Where We Get Our Printables

For Avery's curriculum we are mainly doing the Heart of Dakota preschool curriculum, Little Hands to Heaven.  I am mixing in a lot of other printables to reinforce the letters, numbers, shapes, and colors.

We are doing the animal letter of the week, which is from 1plus1plus1equals1

The number apple tree (on the right) is from ABCJesuslovesme

The shapes worksheets are from 1plus1plus1equals1

Letter collage printables are from Confessions of a Homeschooler

Savanna's math worksheets are from Math U See

Thank you too all the hardworking ladies offering their beautiful work for free!  <3

Last day of Letter A

Today was cute.  She helped glue everything on.  She did really good at the circle as well.

We are doing the animal letter of the week, which is from 1plus1plus1equals1

The number one worksheet on the left is from our curriculum, Little Hands to Heaven.  The one of the right if from ABCJesuslovesme

Day Two

Even though today is day two, I decided to do her first day of school picture and her 'about me' page.  This is going in the front of her keepsake binder.  We have one without all my drawings on it for her daddy to keep as well.

We got these printables from Thirty Handmade Days

I only took about 30 pictures to get this one, and its perfect!  :)

Here's our letter of the week letter collage.  We used stars because they are pretty, and we don't have any apple seeds or apple jacks to glue on.  This printable is from Confessions of a Homeschooler

And here's my other bug, sick all day :(  Poor girl has been vomiting everything up.  But by the time I am posting this (10pm) she is going a bit better.  And Avery hasn't show any symptoms so that's good!

Until next time, Amber

Avery's First Day!

Obviously, our first week of school is the letter A.  We are also focusing on the color red, circles, and the number one.

After reading our bible we talked about how God said "let there be light," and there was light.  So we drew on a white piece of paper with white crayon and then painted over it with black watercolor.

We are using the Heart of Dakota preschool curriculum, Little Hands to Heaven.  I am also adding in my own mixture of "letter, number, color, shape of the week"
